Maths and computation
For integration, square root extraction, summation, subtraction, multiplication, division, scaling and linearisation
The SIL range of signal converters for maths and computation functions extends to both analogue and digital type process signals.
Analogue types include:
- Integrators for for continuous integration and totalisation of signals proportional to rate e.g flow
- Function generator - provides an output proportional to: the square root of the input signal, the input raised to the power of 3/2 or the input raised to the power of 5/2
- Multiplication of two analogue signals
- Summation (subtraction or averaging) of up to six inputs
- Linearisers applies a pre-set curve to the input signal
Digital signal types include:
- Dividers for integer division of pulse type inputs
- Frequency scaler for scaling the frequency of the input signal by an adjustable non-integer number
- Pulse summator (subtractor) - sums up to five digital (pulse) signals.

Integration
See 107-5A and 112-5A analogue to frequency converter (Integrators)
Function generators (square root, 3/2 law, 5/2 law)
107-7B
Provides a voltage or current signal output which is proportional to one of the following functions:
• Square root (e.g. for DP transmitter)
• 3/2 law (flowrate measurements from flume or weir)
• 5/2 law (flowrate measurements form 'V' Notch weir)
Input and output signals may be current or voltage and the unit will convert to signals of different ranges and types. The unit provides an optional transducer excitation supply. Wall or DIN rail mounting.

Multiplier / Squarer
107-12A
Provides an analogue output signal proportional to the multiplication of two analogue input signals. The input signals may be of differing types e.g. current / voltage, true / raised zero, etc. Can also be made to function as a squarer. Wall or DIN rail mounting.

Analogue summators/ averagers/ subtractors
107-6A
Sums - or subtracts - up to three inputs. The output signal may be current or voltage and is proportional to the sum or difference of the input signals. Inputs signals may represent different ranges and be of different types (e.g. current / voltage, true or raised zero etc.). This unit will perform an averaging function with equal input ranges. Wall or DIN rail mounting.

112-6A
As the 107-5A but will sum, or subtract - up to six inputs Wall or DIN rail mounting.
Linearisers
112-40 Digital lineariser
A non-microprocessor based unit which accepts a voltage, current or resistance input signal and provides an isolated current or voltage signal output. The output signal can follow a pre-programmed law. Provides for external switching between two laws and a multiplier input.
Wall or DIN rail mounting.
Frequency / digital dividers
112-25 Digital divider
Divides the frequency of the input signal by an adjustable integer. Two versions are available: two decades (0-99), adjustable via internal switches and four-decades(0-9999), selectable via internal switches and a further ÷10 or ÷100 adjustable by a jumper link. Wall or DIN rail mounting.
Frequency scalers
112-26 Frequency scaler
Scales the frequency of the input signal by an adjustable non-integer number. The scaling factor is set by internal switches, four decades of division (0-9999) and four decades of rate multiplication (0-0.9999). Wall or DIN rail mounting. Two further divisions of 10 and 100 are selected via jumper links.
Typical applications: flowmeter scaling to provide one pulse per unit volume.
Pulse summator / subtractor
112-60 Pulse summator
Sums up to five digital (pulse) signals.
An optional version of the unit operates as an adder / subtractor. In this mode two outputs are provided for use with an external add / subtract counter.
Wall or DIN rail mounting.
Typical application: summation of integrator pulses from several flow meters.
