Signal converters

A versatile range of signal converters providing signal level and signal type conversion, booster, inverter, amplifier, conditioner and scaling functions for process control instrumentation. SIL signal converters units will convert voltage or current signals, or inputs from resistance transducers e.g. variable resistances, potentiometers, resistance thermometers, into standard voltage or current process signals. The 107-1/B Bridge Amplifier caters for millivolt input signals including those from bridge type transducers (e.g. strain gauge, load cells and pressure transducers).

Typical applications for signal converters

• Solving current loop loading problems
• Converting voltage signals to current, current signals to voltage or converting resistance type signals to current or voltage.
• Scaling of process variables
• Interfacing field sensors, transducers and transmitters with indicators, PLCs, and other process control instrumentation.
• Boosting signals to drive long signal lines
• Signal level changing

Signal Converters selection guide

PLEASE NOTE other outputs and, with the exception of the Bridge Amplifier, inputs
within the following ranges can be provided.

INPUTS: Current from 0-1mA to 0-30mA, Voltage from 0-1V to 0-250V,
Bidirectional voltage signals (e.g. ± 5 V)
(NB other mV input ranges for the Bridge Amplifier can be provided)
OUTPUTS: Currents from 0-1mA to 0-30mA, Voltage from 0-1V to 0-10V
Bidirectional voltage signals (e.g. ± 5 V) or reverse acting current and
voltage signals (e.g. 4-20mA to 20-4mA) are possible.
Current sink output is available on most types.
